Set in a stunning location by the sea in the quiet village of Carsethorn, this lovely cottage enjoys sweeping views over the Solway Firth, Criffel and the Galloway coastline beyond.
North Corner Cottage is an ideal base from which to explore the regions beautiful coastline with its abundance of birds or to take advantage of the excellent walking, golf and mountain biking that can be found nearby.
The cottage sleeps four and is well equipped with home-from-home comforts which will make your stay a fantastic one. The homely front room is the perfect place to sit and enjoy the beautiful seafront views and has a cosy wood-burning stove and a TV with Freeview as well as a DVD and CD player. The fully equipped kitchen with its electric cooker and hob, a fridge freezer, microwave and dishwasher will make cooking a breeze and each of the bedrooms offer a comfortable stay with quality bed linen, duvets and towels available for guests. The cottage’s small enclosed garden has a seating area and a lovely summer house. Parking is available beside the cottage with additional spaces nearby.
There is a pub just 200 yards away which serves lunches and evening meals and boasts more than 35 malt whiskeys for you to choose from. There is also a regular bus service which runs to the market town of Dumfries and to Dalbeattie.
The village of Carsethorn is an ideal base from which to explore the region’s beautiful coastline and for birdwatching at the Mersehead RSPB reserve which is just 5 miles along the coast. Take advantage of the excellent walking and head up the 1900 ft Criffel Hill for spectacular views, or along the shoreline to find fossilsYou can also enjoy fantastic golf with the Southerness, Colvend and Solway Links courses all nearby. Mountain biking is also available at Mabie Forest.
