Brae Cottage bed and breakfast is nestled in the beautiful Shiskine Valley, on the stunning Isle of Arran.
Built on the site of an old steading, we offer two luxuriously furnished rooms, with modern facilities and superb comfort.
The bed and breakfast is a family business run by your hosts, Trevor & Sally Bambridge. Whether you are looking for a quiet, romantic break, or a full on adventure family holiday, Arran is the place for your most memorable experience yet.
Enjoy a hearty Scottish breakfast made with the best local produce (a vegetarian option is available). A choice of cereals, yoghurts and fresh fruit also awaits you, with best quality roast ground coffee and aromatic tea.
In the evenings, watch the most amazing skies appear over Kintyre in front of your very eyes, and the beautiful colours that they cast on the surrounding mountains.

Arran, known as 'Scotland in Minature', is situated 11 miles off the west coast of Scotland and is accessible by a 55 minute ferry ride.
The beautiful Shiskine Valley is situated on the western side of the island, where the gorgeous evening sunsets light up its mountains.
We have a double and a twin room, both with memory foam mattresses, offering a comfy bed to soothe those aching bones after a hard day out travelling and sightseeing. The rooms have a well stocked hospitality tray, hairdryer, flat screen TV with built in DVD player, selection of DVD's, fluffy towels, loads of storage space, a seating area in both rooms, huge bathroom with bath and separate shower cubicle. There is a selection of Arran Aromatics toiletries to spoil yourself with. We have a drying room/boot room for your use, and an iron is available upon request.
Brae Cottage has a private car park for two vehicles. We are also on the main bus route, and if you stand at the top of the driveway, they will stop (that`s Arran for you!). All buses run in conjunction with the Calmac ferry.
A traditional Scottish breakfast is served between 8am and 9am in the dining room, where you can sit and enjoy the uninterrupted views of the valley and Kintyre. We use Fairtrade products and local produce to ensure you have the best tasting breakfast ever! Earlier breakfast can be served by prior arrangement. Vegetarian options are available.
There is a patio for your use, where you can sit outside and have a drink, watch the wonderful variety of birdlife, hares and rabbits, and gaze in the evenings (with a bottle of wine or two!), at the most amazing skies.
Shiskine Valley makes a fabulous base for your Arran adventure. We offer great places to eat and drink, from morning coffees to evening dining. There is a swimming pool, a gym facility, one of the best golf courses on the island,and a great beach just down the road at Blackwaterfoot where you can watch the seals playing or the otters running on the sand. You might even see a basking shark or two! There are plenty of local shops, a post office, bike and car hire, and stables offering pony trecking. Lorna at the Beauty Box offers a great range of therapies to revive yourself. The Balmichael Centre has quad biking, laser shooting, pottery, gift shops and an excellent tea room. There are some of the best walks on the island within walking distance of Brae Cottage. Kings Cave and Machrie Moor Standing Stones are a must see tourist attraction, visited by many each year.
There are plenty of books, maps and leaflets available for your perusal at Brae Cottage. Sally and Trevor will be more than happy to help with local knowledge and information on your request.
