Welcome to our home. We live in a tastefully converted cottage away from the noise of traffic overlooking the award winning village of Rowanburn and the beautiful Esk Valley and Cumbrian Hills. Just newly opened we are suited for adults of all ages, with beautiful walks, golf, shooting and fishing within easy reach. We can provide a freezer and packed lunches on request.

You can relax in our private garden and patio areas, or by arrangement use the facilities in our games room which include a full size snooker table and honesty bar. For the more energetic sport try the outside table tennis table. We have a large selection of books and DVDs to choose from, cards dominoes and cribbage, all to make your stay as relaxed and enjoyable as possible.

We have ample secure off road parking and are 400 yards from the main road.

We have one double room to offer with ensuite steam shower and television with DVD.
The other room has twin beds and private bathroom with shower, bath and robes. The television is Freeview but DVDs can be watched in the dining room/snug.

A mile away, the village of Canonbie has a Church of Scotland, a hotel with an extensive menu, a Hair and Beauty Salon, a shop with Post Office, and Reiver’s tea room. It also features a tennis court, bowls and riverside walks.

We are situated only 15 minutes from the world famous Gretna Green, and Gretna Gateway Village. Hadrian’s Wall and Keilder National Park are but a short drive away. The M6, A7 and M74 are only minutes away, for access to Glasgow, Edinburgh and the Lake District.

We have Broadband/Internet so you can pick up your Emails if it’s necessary to keep in touch with the outside world.

From Blinkbonny you can travel West to Dumfries, home of Robert Burns and the lovely countryside which is Galloway. 2009 is Homecoming year in Scotland and you are invited to join in the many celebrations across the region. The area is steeped in history with its castles, Drumlanrigg and Caerlaverick to mention just two, Robert the Bruce and his spider and more up to date the David Coulthart museum in Twynholm.

Scenic ports of Kirkcudbright, Rockcliffe and Kippford are also in that area as are sandy beaches. Further West is Stranraer where the ferry leaves for Northern Ireland. Wigtown close by is famous for its books and local nature reserve. Nearby is Bladnoch and its distillery!

To the north is the charming town of Moffat and Langholm is only 7 miles away with the Buccleuch Centre and Museum.

There are so many places of interest to see we will be happy to show you all the necessary brochures and recommend places to visit and stay.

Whilst we can’t guarantee the weather we can assure you of a warm welcome to this part of the country, a hearty cooked breakfast to kick start your day and surely the quote “Haste ye back” will be remembered long after you have returned home.
