Habitat@Ballater
Habitat is situated in a quiet courtyard near the village centre. It is a purpose built hostel with superb facilities. There are a mix of shared bunkrooms and private family rooms. The hostel is ideal for groups or single travellers.
The hostel was opened in February 2009 and the standard of accommodation is excellent. All the rooms are ensuite and there is underfloor heating throughout. The hostel has been built to exacting environmental standards and all heating and hot water is produced by a ground source heat pump.
The hostel has a lovely sitting area with huge sofas, widescreen satellite TV and a wood burning stove.
The kitchen is large and equipped with everything you need whether cooking for a small family or a large group.
The hostel also has free Wi-Fi access and a good supply of books and games for rainy days or wintery evenings.
We have a great drying room with dehumidifier, washer and tumble dryer.
The hostel is fully wheelchair accessible.
We can provide travel cots, highchairs and baby monitors.
Ballater is a lovely village and is a good base for exploring the Eastern Cairngorms and rural Aberdeenshire.
There are plenty of pubs and restaurants in the village and Ballater has an excellent selection of shops and activity providers.
