2 Laigh Isle is an attractive chalet with countryside panoramic views. The chalet is situated on a highly maintained garden location which leads down to the coast line approx 200m from the chalet. Located in the idyllic harbour of Isle of Whithorn, are two pubs / restaurants and a post office / shop. Inside the chalet sleeps up to 7 people with two double rooms, one with a top bunk and a double sofa bed in the living room. The kitchen and dining area comes complete with electric hob/ double oven, microwave, fridge & freezer, washing machine and dryer. The chalet is equipped to a high standard, has digital LCD TV / DVD, central heating and double glazing throughout. The bathroom has bath and shower. Linen and heating costs are included in the price. The garden surrounds the chalet and is a great place to sit out, have a glass of wine and let the kids play. The village has an award winning pub serving real ales and bar meals, Ideal for families (the pub is child friendly), just a couple of minutes walk from the chalet. There is a playground in the village itself and one leading up to the ruins of Saint Ninian’s chapel which has spectacular views of the Irish sea and Isle of Man from the cairn and when venturing on local walks along the coastline and fields. As well as being a good center to stay, it's a great base for exploring the surrounding attractions. Cyclists can enjoy a wide network of country lanes straight from the village, which is itself on the Machars cycle Route. Mountain bikers can access the forests at Galloway with the world famous 7 stanes at Glentrool, Kirroughtree, Dalbeattie, Mabie, Ae, Glentress and Newcastleton, where there are graded routes to suit all standards. Nearby visitor attractions include Monrieth animal park, Saint Ninian’s cave and Cream O' Galloway organic farm and ice cream makers. Numerous golf courses surround the area from informal 9 hole courses to championship standard courses. There are plenty of options for walkers, from coastal walks by Burrowhead to the extensive hills in the Galloway Forest to the north.
