Red Onion & Blue Cheese Tart
"The blue cheese was of a good quality and the red onion and filling were cooked and seasoned well. The puff pastry tart was crisp and of good colour."
Cod & Chips with Mushy Peas & Tartar Sauce
"The flavour and freshness of the cod was second to none. The batter was crisp and golden, the fish was transluscent in colour and cooked to perfection. The chips were also of a good standard."
Blueberry & Vanilla Cheesecake
"The biscuit base was crisp and buttery. The cheesecake was smooth on the palate and exceptionally light. The flavours of blueberry and vanilla in the cheesecake were excellent. This dessert was a joy to eat."
We cater for both tourists and local customers, including students from Edinburgh's new town. Our style is informal and relaxed with a buzzing and lively atmosphere. The Olive Branch has a rustic look with exposed brick walls, sanded floors and sturdy wooden tables. Our all day menu provides a selection of classic favourites to suit all, whether for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
