Creagan House Hotel Restaurant

EatScotland's independent assessor said:
"Personally run by the owners. The accent is firmly on fresh, high quality, local ingredients, interestingly presented."
Isle of Skye Scallops in Pancetta with Hazelnut-Coated Oysters
"Very attractively presented. Two scallops bound together with pancetta alongside an oyster shell containing two fried oysters coated in hazelnuts, and garnished with a substantial salad."
Lamb Cutlets
"Very tender, well-flavoured lamb. A well-balanced dish that brought out all the flavours of the ingredients. Executed with care and skill, to produce a very enjoyable main course."
Bread and butter pudding with Vanilla Ice Cream
"Very light and fluffy bread with plump, juicy sultanas. The ice cream was well made and well flavoured."
We cater for customers who are looking for something extra special. Our style is professional, yet informal, with great attention to detail. The Baronial Dining Room, with its grand fireplace, provides the perfect setting in which to enjoy a meal. We use only fresh produce, much of which is grown specifically for us in local small-holdings, creating variations on classical French cooking with strong Scottish overtones. The house speciality is Smokie in a Pokie, smoked haddock and fresh salmon, cooked in Amontillado Sherry, wrapped in smoked salmon, served with a Pastis butter sauce.
