Captains Galley

EatScotlands' independent assessor said:
"The balance and relevance of the dishes was well thought out utilising local fresh produce to provide the guest with a flavour of the area."
"The selection provided the guest with a variety of fish dishes using local species with one meat alternative in each course."
Troncon of Hake
"The fish was very fresh, just cooked and retaining succulence and flavour. This was a well balanced dish with a hint of piquancy from the tomato garnish."
Hot Chocolate Pudding
"The pudding was a very good size not too big, very well cooked with an appealing soft centre. Excellent flavour and texture."
Rustic C-listed building with lots of character, built in 1804 as an ice house with salmon bothy attached, and sympathetically renovated in 2001 retaining its natural stone walls and magnificent barrel-vaulted ceiling.
Our style is intimate and informal with a warm, welcoming and friendly ambience. With the restaurant situated directly on a busy fishing harbour, Sushi and Sashimi are regular entrees on our menu, but being so close to the source all our seafood dishes are specials.
Although we are primarily a seafood restaurant, we also serve heather-fed Caithness lamb, local-reared rare breed pork, and wild roe deer.
