Anstruther Fish Bar & Restaurant

EatScotlands' independent assessor said:
"The Anstruther fish bar and restaurant is constantly busy and popular with both locals and tourists. The establishment is extremely clean and the staff efficient."
"The portions are generous and the ingredients fresh."
Calamari Rings
"The calamari and its batter was a contrast to the very good local produce. Fresh, lettuce tomato and cucumber served with the calamari to enhance the flavour of the fish."
Grilled Smoked Haddock with Chips
"The lightly smoked fish was plump and moist. Care had been taken to ensure the smoked fish retained its succulence and texture."
Located in the traditional fishing village of Anstruther, the multi award winning Anstruther Fish Bar & Restaurant, voted Best in Scotland 2000/01 and 2001/02 has built up a legendary reputation for their first class fish suppers.
In recent years the reputation of the Fish Bar has been recognised on a more worldwide level - being filmed for the Japanese television audience and also featured in American Magazine 'Bon Appetit'. On a national level it has been recommended in numerous newspaper and magazine editorials, as well as appearing in television programmes such as 'Scottish Passport', 'The Holiday Programme' and most recently 'Scotland's Larder'.
