Manor House Hotel Restaurant

EatScotlands independent assessor said
"The Manor House is quite an institution in Oban, with a long reputation for good food, well cooked and served in a traditional manner of a classic hotel. The restaurant is subdued and intimate, with quiet, efficient service."
Smoked Fish Cakes with Asparagus and Lemon Salad
"The crisply coated cakes were delicious with the lightly smoked fish in abundant quantity. The light delicate lemon dressing enhanced the fish and asparagus wonderfully."
Trio of fillets with thyme rosti and mushroom and green peppercorn sauce.
"Pork, lamb and beef fillets were of high quality and all full of flavour. The flavours of the sauce came through quite clearly and blended to make a very good accompaniment to the meats."
Poached pear shortbread tower.
"Beautifully soft poached pears, thin discs of crisp buttery shortbread with mounds of fresh dairy cream. The best!"
The Manor House was built in 1780 as the principal residence of the Duke of Argyll's Oban estate. Of late Georgian architecture, great consideration has been given to preserve the elegance, charm and atmosphere of its past.
The Manor House is particularly known for its beautifully restored dining room which has magnificent views over Oban Bay and the adjacent islands.
Our team of chefs produces a gourmet menu featuring fresh local fish, game and produce, using fresh herbs from our garden.
