"The duck was of very good quality. Tender and flavoursome. A fine balance of ingredients were noted within this dish. A wonderful marriage of flavours emanated from this hot crispy duck, cold salad and scented jus."

Seared Sea Bass, Crab Risotto, Asparagus Spears and a Pesto Sauce
"The sea bass was of fine quality as were the crab pieces within the risotto. The sea bass was moist and the risotto el dente. The pesto dressing was thin in consistency and full of flavour. A very well executed dish."

Warm Syrup Pudding, Lemon Puree & Honeycomb Ice Cream
"The texture of the pudding was light and moist. The lemon puree was light and frothy and the consistency of the honeycomb ice cream was smooth and creamy with a mild honeycomb flavour."

Our typical customers include visitors to the area, sporting parties and local diners. The house dates back to the 17th century and many original features remain giving Ballathie an air of classical elegance matched with a warm and welcoming ambience.

The lunch and dinner menu changes daily and encompasses a wide variety of fresh local produce. Our head chef creates dishes combining traditional Scottish classics with a modern twist.
