Scallops with Lemon & Rocket
"Attractively seared scallops sitting on a bed of rocket with a lemon flavoured butter sauce and garnished with lemon wedges. Good plump scallops lightly caramelised and sweet to taste. The lemon acted as a very good foil, and the peppery flavour of the rocket made a very good combination."

Rack of Lamb with Redcurrant & Rosemary Sauce
"A section of rack of lamb served in one piece, with ribs trimmed and with a rich dark sauce. The vegetables and potatoes were served already plated and generously sprinkled with pepper. A tender tasty piece of lamb with a good rich, sweet sauce, well judged to accompany the lamb. Cooked pink as requested."

Selection of Cheeses
"The three substancial slices of cheese were of very good quality served with grapes and very good quality oatcakes."

We aim to please anyone who values fresh, simply cooked Scottish ingredients, and the hotel is popular with locals and visitors alike. Our bar offers informal eating and the restaurant is a little more formal, but still relaxed.

The décor is traditional and the atmosphere very much depends on the time of day but guests can be sure of a warm and friendly welcome.

We use several of Scotland's leading suppliers, from Loch Fyne fish and seafood to Mellis' cheese and Mackies ice cream.
