Gallie Craig Coffee House
EatScotlands' independent assessor said:
"A wonderful location with views towards Ireland and the Isle of Man. A very good selection of homemade cakes and pastries, as well as more substantial dishes of the day. Served by friendly and helpful staff."
Carrot and Orange Soup
"A good fresh soup made from carrots with a hint of orange and thickened with potato. An attractive soup with a good colour and consistency."
Steak and Ale Pie
"The meat was excellent, well cooked to be tender, without being stringy. Excellent sauce, well flavoured with mushrooms and a hint of beer and a very good consistency."
Gallie Craig is a local landmark protruding from the sea just off Scotland's most southerly point. The spectacular panoramic view includes the imposing lighthouse, the Isle of Man, Ireland, the South Rhins peninsula and Luce Bay. The terrace area enables the visitor to see more areas of the coastline, in safety, than had previously been possible. Included in the extensive menu are homemade soups, light and main meals, and delicious homemade cakes and tray bakes.
