The Sisters Kelvingrove

EatScotland's independent assessor said:

“This newer addition to the Sisters stable continues their tradition of imaginative Scottish and Irish cooking. High quality produce, skillfully chosen and expertly prepared is allied to friendly, professional service and a welcoming ambience.”

Slow-cooked Pork Flank with Charlie McLeod’s Black Pudding and Caramelised Apple
“The slow-cooked pork had a rich depth of flavour, with every mouthful delicious. The meat was complemented by the robustness of the high-quality black pudding and offset by the sweetness of the apple.”

Arisaig Venison with Creamed Parsnip and Beetroot Dauphinoise
“Understated presentation allowing the ingredients to make the statement, with the venison sliced simply atop the dauphinoise and the parsnip purée on the side. The venison was of high quality, succulent and moist, with a velvety texture. The dauphinoise was a delicious mix of flavours, with the earthiness of the beetroot complemented by the cream and grain mustard. A harmonious marriage of taste, colour and texture.”

Puff Candy Meringue with Honeycomb Ice Cream and Hot Butterscotch Sauce
“A tempting creation of honey-coloured meringue, creamy white ice cream and toffee sauce, garnished with fresh raspberry and mint leaves. Childhood recaptured: puff candy, ice cream and toffee - the perfect combination!”

This family-run restaurant specialising in fresh Scottish seasonal produce is a new addition to the Sisters Jordanhill restaurant. Real-life sisters Jacqueline and Pauline O’Donnell and their team have developed a homely, welcoming local eaterie, having spent several years working with Scotland’s larder to give customers a taste of real Scotland in the middle of Glasgow. Scallops and langoustines are landed on Thursday at the pier in Ullapool and they are in the restaurant half way through service, and the wild venison is supplied from Ardnamurchan. If there is room, why not finish off your meal with their infamous puff candy meringue?
