Cumbernauld Theatre
Cumbernauld Theatre has a long and destinguished reputation for producing high quality popular, accessible and challenging theatre that tours nationally and internationally.
It is a friendly arts centre based round a row of 18th century cottages on woodland site, with year round theatre, music and comedy events. It has two bars. The programme includes lively community events and festivals, and the theatre also produces and tours throughout the country. Cumbernauld Theatre's annual Christmas Show has earned a great reputation for high quality family theatre, and won the Best Children's Show category in the Critics' Award for Theatre in Scotland 2004/05.
The theatre's programme of events includes touring professional drama companies, dance, comedy, music and children's entertainemnt. Community events and activities also feature prominently with eight youth theatre groups, an amateur adult drama group, an acoustic music forum and a senior arts forum all meeting at the theatre.
The theatre also has a reputation for producing ground-breaking work in theatre education.
