Leighton Library

A simple, two storey, harled, rectangular building with a steeply sloping tiled roof and crow-stepped gables. The plain, east, facade with its forestair leading up to the moulded library doorway is transformed by the magnificent, if weathered, oval, carved stone armorial panel in baroque style - with the inscription Bibliotheca Leightoniana with a crowning mitre. The west facade has pleasant round-heated windows. Currently under restoration by Honeyman, Jack and Robertson.
