The Balmore Coach House

The Balmore Coach House is a charming out-of-town shop and coffee shop specialising in Scottish and World crafts. It stands in Balmore Village, north of Glasgow, on the A807 between Milngavie and Kirkintilloch. It is the only member of the British Association of Fair Trade Shops in the Glasgow area. All profits go to charity.
It is wholly owned by the Balmore Trust, a grant giving Trust funded principally by the Coach House and also by donations and legacies. Two thirds of grants go overseas and one third is distributed in the UK. Schemes favoured are those in areas of greatest social need and with which The Trust has personal links. When possible and appropriate, material aid is given locally and by shipment containers of educational and medical supplies. It houses a branch of Tools for Self Reliance.
