Our round shop in Edinburgh New Town and our period piece on King’s Parade in Cambridge continue to house a unique and eclectic mix of carefully sourced designer clothing and accessories for all ages, sizes and budgets. We focus on collections which are exclusive to us and in which the cloth, also, has been produced by the individual designers and their stable.

Kind personal service is provided and as always, if you have any rogue pieces in your wardrobe that need matching up, please feel free to bring them along with you when you come. We would love to help. Browsers are very welcome.

Somehow we are still here, north and south of the border, and this Autumn we celebrate our 20th anniversary in the Edinburgh shop. In 1991 the Paton Building corner had a variety of shops. We nestled in on the adjacent corner to a bespoke gentleman’s outfitters, first opened in the reign of George III, and people remember too the flower shop. Now the small parade consists of only one; still simply to serve. The collections are in and we are as excited as ever to introduce them.

Bitte Kai Rand from Copenhagen holds the front page this season and deservedly so. This enduring and wholesome lifestyle collection is also cutting edge, confident, strong and sexy, this time peppered with magenta tones, tea-stained limes and sparkle.

D’Exterior from Italy combines sumptuous quality knitwear in cashmere and wool mixes with wovens. The swirl midi is back and works perfectly with the chicest tricot. Ischiko, another pedigree, is unashamedly the stuff of heirlooms. Softly tailored coats rub along with beautifully folded full length skirts. Colours are St. Andrew’s agate and garnet.

La Bottega di Brunella is a comfort zone collection and a half. These easy and wearable clothes also provide a positive fashion statement for the fuller figure. Home grown fabrics are crafted intelligently into outfits for all occasions, for high days and holidays.

Indies, our new label from France, has already made an impact. Quirky dresses and jackets in felted wool mixes and “icing on the cake” knits make the perfect silhouette this season. Hugan’Co, too, has delivered early. Great work dresses in kind and hardy printed stretch fabrics are embellished with soft bouclé trims. Lunn, new to us last season, is establishing itself fast, for cut and style. Not surprisingly really when the parent company is Lilith, available in the Cambridge shop only. Both collections are wonderfully flamboyant and arty.

Pennyblack is as smart and as feminine a range of dresses and coordinates as you could find anywhere. If you want to look chic or discreet at an affordable price, look no further. Indiwoman by individual is our newest budget addition to Cambridge and is for the young at heart. Be unafraid. Tweeds, knits and prints in jewel colours work together. Paint you own picture. Anything goes.

Nygärdsanna brings a contemporary and feminine edge to sound basics. Harris tweed and natural yarns are just part of the home-coming recipe for these beautifully understated garments. Prêt, also from Sweden, combines steady and established ready to wear with all the latest. This collection crosses all the age and size boundaries and is affordable too.

Schneiders, our quality range of outerwear from Salzburg, is as diverse as ever with something for everyone. Invest in staying warm this winter. You won’t regret it. John Smedley classic knitwear as always.

Ally Capellino bags this season are subtle and restrained, the leather tactile and rich. Many of the bags are generously sized and with bold shapes, both in the frame story and also a new soft lambskin group. This Autumn we are delighted to be introducing a new scarf collection called a.l (amet & ladoue). Gossamer cashmeres in lovely prints are suitably moody, suitably bright and the finest wool is fringed with dear little tassels. Gorgeous finishing touches in draughty days.
