Castle Douglas Food Town Initiative
Shoppers from near and far can see the array of food produce available through the local family businesses that operate in King Street which runs through the centre of the town. One walk down this street enables shoppers to step back in time and shop in a relaxed manner and enjoy the experience of seeing quality products being displayed and sold.
In and around King Street there are also many other businesses that support the Town's needs as well as a Supermarket. Parking is free and easy with large car park facilities. Gift and Fashion shops are also available and these offer the finest quality products and you will be really surprised at what is available in the gift and craft shops.
An important part of the Food Town Initiative is to involve the whole Town in a number of events that take place during the year.
These include Food and Craft Fairs, Galloway Country Fayre, Chef demonstrations, special food related week-ends and regular themed menus provided by the town's excellent hotels, cafes and restaurants.
