The Avenue Shopping Centre

The Avenue at Mearns opened for trading in the early 1970s under the name of 'Mearns Cross Shopping Centre'. In 1986 the Centre was purchased by Sibec Limited who conducted a refurbishment program, completed in 1991. The Centre now contains 44 units within an enclosed mall. Free parking is available for over 800 cars.
The Avenue is situated in the Eastwood District, which is located towards the south-west edge of the built up area of the Clydeside conurbation. It lies adjacent to the Ayr Road (A77), a few metres north of its junction with Barrhead Road. The Ayr Road is the main south-westerly radial route from the Glasgow City centre.
The Centre is anchored by 'Asda' (90 000 sq. ft.), and the recently completed 'Marks & Spencer' store (27 000 sq. ft). The Marks & Spencer is the first of its kind in Scotland, being a neighbourhood food store.
The total gross area of the Centre is in excess of 250 000 sq. ft. The Centre is now owned by a consortium composed of Sovereign Land and Schroders Properties Limited.
The Centre has been successful in drawing custom from other areas of Greater Glasgow, also from other towns between 7 -25 miles away, (East Kilbride, Kilmarnock and Ayr).
Opening Times : Monday to Friday: 0830 - 2000, Saturday: 0830 - 2000 and Sunday: 1000 - 1800
