Hunter's Quay
Once the headquarters of the Royal Clyde Yacht Club, Hunter's Quay was a great yachting centre in pre-war days. Between the turn of the century and the early 1930s, Sir Thomas Lipton's series of "Shamrocks" (challengers for the Americas Cup) rode at anchor off Hunter's Quay before setting out to cross the Atlantic.
Western Ferries (Clyde) Ltd now operate a regular car/passenger ferry service between Hunter's Quay and McIntory's Point at the south end of Gourock.
