Baldernock Parish Church

Church of Scotland
The religious history of the site goes back to the 13th century. The present church was built in 1795 on the site of an earlier church. The bell-tower contains a curious panel which may have come from the nearby Roman wall. The octagonal gatehouse and stone stile feature in Moffats play Bunty Pulls the Strings. Interesting gravestones, including Archibald Bulloch from whom President Theodore Roosevelt and Eleanor Roosevelt descended. The church stands at the end of a lovely one-mile walk from Milngavie.
