Saltoun Parish Church

Church of Scotland
There has been a church on this site since before 1244. The present building is a T-plan Gothic kirk of 1805 which John Fletcher Campbell built as a monument to the virtues of his ancestors. The actual designer is most likely to have been Robert Burn. The interior was recast in 1885; the architect was John Lessels. Beneath the church lies the Fletcher Vault, containing the remains of Andrew Fletcher, The Patriot, and members of his family. Linked with Bolton, Humbie and Yester.
