A family-run garden centre on the Solway Coast featuring an extensive plant area, large retail shop and a popular tearoom.
Hetland Garden Nursery specialises in hardy plants and prides itself on being a true plant centre. Plants are sourced from all over the UK and are also hand picked from nurseries in Tuscany. Annual bedding plants are sourced locally in Scotland and Cumbria and are delivered weekly to the nursery so theres always a great variety on offer.
Meander through the secluded woodland garden area enjoying the display gardens, walkways and patio area whose many planted containers give it instant and spectacular colour. In the main shop, stock up on gardening products including chemicals, fertiliser, hand tools, pond equipment, pond liners, etc.
Meanwhile, a new gift area has just opened adjacent to the Oak Tree tearoom selling a wide range of books, cards, candles, silk flowers, jams, shortbread, house-ware etc. The tearoom offers warm and enjoyable surroundings to relax in and enjoy the ever-popular home cooking and baking.
While Hetland is well worth a visit at any time of year, in the winter months leading up to Christmas, the garden centre is transformed into a winter wonderland. The Christmas shop sparkles with wonderful colours and decorations of all kinds including artificial and real trees and Santa's Grotto comes alive with animated snowmen and cuddly animals set in a variety of winter scenes.
Hetland Nursery is open seven days a week. For those with walking disabilities, the nursery has free wheelchairs available and all areas are easily accessible, including the Oak Tree Tearoom.
