Lochgoilhead is a small village situated at the northern end of Loch Goil, a sea loch running into Loch Long.
The village is set amidst magnificent West Highland scenery and is a popular outdoor pursuits and holiday home centre.
The ruins of Carrick Castle lies a few miles south of the village. The 15th-century fortified tower house is of classic Scottish design and was once the hunting lodge of James IV .
