Alexandria

Loch Lomond, close to the town of Alexandria

Information enquiry

Alexandria is a factory town north of Dumbarton.

Alexandria sits on the River Leven just a couple of miles south of Loch Lomond, and a few miles north of the Firth of Clyde, in West Dumbartonshire. The town grew in the 19th century until it joined up with neighbouring Jamestown and Balloch. The Argll Motor Works was the largest car production in Europe between 1905 and 1913; now it houses a motor museum.
