Balfron

Balfron is a dormitory village in southwest Stirlingshire, a little over 15 miles from both Stirling and Glasgow.
In terms of facilities, Balfron is a key rural settlement for the area. It has a number of interesting buildings dating from the 18th- and 19th-centuries when it developed into a textile-weaving centre.
The village's most famous son is the renowned 19th-century architect, Alexander 'Greek' Thomson (1817 - 75).
