Dingwall Area

A sunny day on Dingwall's pedestrianized high street

Information enquiry

Dingwall is a small market town on the Black Isle north of Inverness.

The market town of Dingwall has been a royal burgh since 1226 and was the birthplace of the infamous Macbeth, whose family lived at the castle in, surprisingly enough, Castle Street. These days Dingwall boasts a business park and a pedestrianised shopping street. Close by, Cromarty Firth is used as a repair yard for North Sea oil rigs.
