Portmahomack

Portmahomack is a village on the Tain peninsula in Cromarty.
On the north side of the hammer-shaped Tain peninsula and the south shore of the Dornoch Firth, Portmahomack is a green, windswept village that sprawls downhill to a sandy beach and tidal harbour with wide views around the bay. The Tarbat Discovery Centre deals with the archeology of the Picts in the area, and has many original and replica examples of sculpture. The lighthouse at Tarbat Ness, is one of the highest in Britain.
