Information enquiry

Not only is Cromarty one of the best places to see wild dolphins in Europe, it also boasts Scotland's smallest ferry.

Cromarty is a picturesque village on the coast of the Black Isle north of Inverness, where fishing cottages are mixed with Georgian houses. Cromarty's major attraction, unless you count the two giant oil rigs, are the dolphins that frolic out in the Cromarty Firth, along with seals, porpoises and minke whales. Boat trips take you out to see the sea creatures at play. The Nigg-Cromarty ferry is a little on the small side - the smallest in Scotland, in fact - holding only two cars at a time.
