Lochinver

Lochinver is a small fishing port and resort on the west coast of Sutherland.
Lochinver sits on a sheltered bay 16 miles north of Ullapool in the wilds of the far north-west. It is split into three parts: the harbour, the village, and Baddidarrach, along the shore of Loch Inver.
The focus of Lochinver is the huge fish market, but if you're not here to load up the lorry, there are attractions such as the Assynt Visitor Centre and Highland Stoneware, one of the Highland's most successful and distinctive potteries. Inland, near Elphin, you can pet animals at the Highland and Rare Breeds Farm. Those capable of it can attempt to scale the distinctive sandstone peak of Suillven. South of Lochinver, there is a monumental coastal drive to Achiltibuie.
