Staffin

Famed for its spotty houses and amazing geology, Staffin is on the Trotternish peninsula on the Isle of Skye.
Staffin is a predominantly Gaelic-speaking settlement on Skye's Trotternish peninsula, characterised by its 'spotty' houses. Several fossilized dinosaur footprints were discovered in 1996 in Staffin Bay.
Take the road from the north end of the bay to the Quiraing, a spectacular forest of mighty pinnacles and savage rock formations, such as the Prison, the 120-foot Needle and the Table, a great sunken platform where locals used to play shinty.
