Dalwhinnie

The village of Dawhinnie, with dark mountains behind

Information enquiry

Dalwhinnie is a small village set amongst dramatic mountain scenery in Badenoch.

The mountains are all around: magnificent, moody, remote and desolate. Dalwhinnie, at the head of Loch Etricht, is a good base for exploring such goliaths as Ben Alder. Dalwhinnie's other draw is its distillery - the highest in Scotland. The excellent visitor centre is open all year round and offers you a 'wee dram'.

A little further on the main route north are the larger villages of Kingussie and Newtonmore.
