Carluke
Carluke lies a few miles equidistant from Lanark and Wishaw, overlooking the middle reaches of the River Clyde.
Known since Roman times, Carluke became a royal burgh in the mid-17th century and expanded rapidly from the 18th century with a range of industries including corn milling, cotton weaving, coal mining and the manufacture of bricks, glass, confectionery and jam.
