Milngavie

Information enquiry

Milngavie (pronounced 'mill-guy') is a small town lying 7 miles to the northwest of Glasgow city centre.

Rather like neighbouring Bearsden, Milngavie thrived in the late 19th century as a dormitory town for Glasgow, a function it still performs today. The town centre is pedestrianised and offers a pleasant stroll amongst the variety of small shops. It also marks the southern end of the long-distance West Highland Way. More local walks can be enjoyed in the nearby Mugdock Country Park and around the attractively landscaped Mugdock and Craigmaddie Reservoirs.
