Ballater

Ballater is an attractive town close to Balmoral Castle and a good base for walking and sightseeing in Royal Deeside.

Ballater is a right royal town set in magnificent scenery - hemmed in by the River Dee and the mountains. It is an excellent centre for touring Royal Deeside.

A new tourist information centre is housed in the Old Royal Station, a fabulously restored landmark, where Queen Victoria arrived for the first time back in 1848. Nearby natural attractions include Lochnagar, Glen Muick and Muir of Dinnet Nature Reserve.
