Inverurie
Inverurie is a farming town 17 miles north-west of Aberdeen.
Inverurie is a good base for touring the castles of the area, while five miles to the west is the probable site of Mons Grampius, where the Romans defeated the Picts in 84 AD - the first-ever battle on Scottish soil. Thainstone Mart, just south of town, is one of Europe's biggest livestock sales.
