Fraserburgh

A lighthouse keeper reflected in the light at Kinnaird Head near Fraserburgh

Information enquiry

Fraserburgh is a major fishing port in the far north-east of Scotland.

Fraserburgh is not only one of the busiest fishing ports in the country, but is also the proud holder of the much-vaunted mainland British wind speed record - a whopping 144mph. The first-ever lighthouse in Scotland was built at Kinnaird Head and now forms part of the Museum of Scottish Lighthouses. Next door is the Fraserburgh Heritage Museum, which is well worth a look.
