Scarista
Scarista (Sgarasta in Gaelic) lies on the southwestern coastline of South Harris.
Facing out into the Atlantic, Scarista offers its visitors dramatic views over the Sound of Taransay, lined with miles of golden sands. The beaches in this area are popular with surfers. Golfers also find the famous coastline course an appealing challenge.
Scarista is a good base for exploring the rest of South Harris and further afield to the Uists via the ferry from nearby Leverburgh.
