Stornoway is the main hub on the island of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides.

Stornoway is a transport hub, and the main centre of population and services on Lewis, with a hotels, B&Bs and pubs to cater for visitors arriving on the ferry from Ullapool or flying in from Glasgow, Edinburgh or Inverness.

The town has a bustling harbour, while attractions include the An Lanntair Art Gallery, Lewis Loom Centre (all about the famous Harris tweed) and the Museum nan Eilean. Lews Castle is a 19th century construction whose grounds house the Woodland Centre and a tent for the annual Hebridean Celtic Festival in July. Be sure to try the local speciality - the renowned Stornoway black pudding (and white pudding and fruit pudding too!).
