What to see and do

Achnasheen

Looking up the road to Strath Bran, a glen carrying the River Bran from Achnasheen to Loch Luinart

Information enquiry

Achnasheen, 18 miles north-east of Strathcarron at the head of Glen Carron, functions as the chief transport connection with the Torridon region. It is a stop on the Kyle of Lochalsh train line, and marks a fork in the road from Inverness. One branch, the A890, follows the railway towards Strathcarron and Kyle; the other, the A832, snakes its way through the mountains to Kinlochewe, beside the Torridon hills.
