Information enquiry

Mauchline is a small town ten miles east of Ayr, known for its connections with Scottish national poet Robert Burns.

Robert Burns lived here with his wife Jean Armour, who came from Mauchline, and there is a museum where they lived. The National Burns Memorial Tower stands to the north-west of the town. Another Burns-themed sight is Poosie Nansie's tavern, associated with Burn's poem 'The Jolly Beggars'.
