Kinlochbervie

Kinlochbervie is a West Highland crofting community, with a huge fish-processing plant and modern concrete harbour from where trucks from all over Europe pick up cod and shellfish.
North-west of Kinlochbervie, a single-track road takes you through isolated Oldshoremore, a working crofters village scattered above a stunning white-sand beach, to Blairmore, where you can park for the four-mile walk across peaty moorland to deserted Sandwood Bay. Few visitors make this half-day detour north, but the beach at the end of the rough track is one of the most beautiful in Scotland.
