Lossiemouth

Lossiemouth, on the Moray coast, is the nearest seaside town to Elgin.
Lossiemouth is a cheery golf-oriented resort blessed with two lovely sandy beaches. The glorious duney spit of the East Beach is reached over a footbridge across the River Lossie from the town park. In the easternmost part of the older harbours grid of stone streets, Pitgaveny Street has the tiny Fisheries Museum, which includes some interesting scale models of fishing boats and a re-creation of the study of local-lad-made-good James Ramsay Macdonald (18661937), Britain's first Labour prime minister.
