House for an Art Lover
Situated within the beautiful setting of Bellahouston Park and adjacent to magnificent Victorian Walled Gardens, the House for an Art Lover represents one of Glasgow's most popular visitor attractions.
Designed in 1901 by Charles Rennie Mackintosh for a competition set by a German design magazine, and opened to the public in 1996, the House is a truly unique venue, ideally suited for corporate hospitality, conferences, training, or indeed any event which would benefit from such a prestigious setting, including weddings and private parties.
Visitors to the House can view the impressive suite of Mackintosh rooms and enjoy an audio-visual presentation exploring the genius of the architect. The Art Lovers Shop, situated on the ground floor, combines a diverse range of Mackintosh-inspired gifts with a unique selection of contemporary products showcasing the work of new designers and local crafts people.
