Self taught Jon Thomson has been making bird art for 20 years through drawing, painting and sculpture. 'Colour seems to play an ever increasing role in my work, a close up of a bird's feather is almost all the inspiration I need'.
Les Murdoch enjoys sketching mostly shorebirds and gulls especially when they are constantly on the move. ' I enjoy the challenge of trying to capture the magical Orkney light especially when the wind is blowing, changing the mood from minute to minute'.
The gallery is situated in the northwest corner of the mainland, near the Brough of Birsay.
