Tweed Valley Forest Park

Looking over Tweed Valley Forest Park

Situated less than an hour's drive south of Edinburgh, Tweed Valley Forest Park includes seven forests and offers a number of recreation activities and memorable days in Scotland's great outdoors.

Tweed Valley Forest Park is Forestry Commission Scotland's youngest Forest Park. Established in 2004, it is arguably Scotland's most popular and visited.

Located amidst stunning Borders scenery, Tweed Valley includes seven forests - Caberston, Cademuir, Cardrona, Glentress, Thornielee, Traquair (Innerleithen) and Yair. There's a great selection of waymarked walking routes, horse-riding trails, wildlife watching opportunities and lots of other points of interest for visitors coming to this lovely part of southern Scotland.

It's here you will also find renowned mountain biking centres, most notably 7stanes Glentress, which offers around 50 miles of trails with something for all abilities (as well as the new Glentress Peel visitor facilities) and 7stanes Innerleithen, with its challenging cross-country and downhill trails.

Enjoy world-class mountain biking, take a relaxing stroll through Cardrona or Thornilee forests or spend some time at the Glentress Peel Wild Watch centre, where between April and September you can see live remote images of Ospreys and other local wildlife.
