Castle Douglas Art Gallery

Gifted to the town of Castle Douglas by a local artist in 1938, the art gallery was renovated in 1996 with the aim of creating fantastic arts venue within the town for locals and visitors alike to enjoy.
The Castle Douglas Art Gallery is a sister gallery of the Stewarty Museum in Kirkcudbright and features the work of local artists and craft groups, and regularly welcomes touring exhibitions. The gallery also plays host to a popular annual programme of temporary exhibitions.
The gallery’s town-centre location means you will find yourself surrounded by fantastic things to see and enjoy, such as Carlingwark Loch which is home to a wide species of water birds and, nearby, stands the magnificent Threave Castle and Gardens, a must-visit for your trip to this wonderful corner of Scotland.
