Logan Botanic Garden

Lying at the south-western tip of Scotland, Logan Botanic Garden is unrivalled as the country's most exotic garden.
Due to the region's warm climate, a remarkable collection of unusual and beautiful plants from the southern hemisphere flourish in this plantsman's paradise and the self-guided audio tour means you won’t miss any of the exotic details.
The Walled Garden is a breathtaking celebration of the world of plants. From spring to late autumn, a blaze of colour greets the eye and the air is heavy with rich scents. With a backdrop of cabbage palms, Chusan palms and tree ferns, the atmosphere on a sunny day is truly tropical.
Wonder at the groves of eucalyptus and at the Gunnera Bog in the Woodland Garden. Head to the Local Heroes section, to see the fascinating collection of native coastal treasures found in Dumfries & Galloway before dropping into the Discovery Centre to unearth the garden's intriguing history, from its foundation to its current wealth of plant collections.
If Logan looks familiar then you may recognise it as the backdrop to cult television programme The Wicker Man and more recently pretty Port Logan, appeared as the fictitious village in the popular tv series 2000 Acres of Sky.
