Threave Garden and Estate

Threave Garden is very much a garden for all seasons, renowned for its glorious display of springtime daffodils, herbaceous beds ablaze with colour in summer and dense heather gardens in autumn.
Just some of the garden's many highlights include the informal Rose Garden; the herbaceous perennials and the one-acre Walled Garden with its wonderful temperate glasshouse collection.
The estate is a wildfowl refuge and is designated as a Special Protection Area (SPA) for breeding waders and wintering waterfowl which have led to Threave’s wetlands been designated as an Area of Special Scientific Interest (ASSI). There is also a network of waymarked trails for you to explore - including marked walks such as the 2.5km estate trail through this variety of landscapes, with hides providing good cover to observe and enjoy the abundant wildlife.
The beauty of the gardens have added to the majesty of Threave House, whose interior have been carefully restored to their appearance in the 1930s, which when added to the estate's fantastic restaurant and shop make this the ideal family day out.
